27th Posse Hog Hunt-Final Planning!

Recommended Posts

We will be meeting at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Exxon/7-Eleven on HWY 77 South in Victoria: 5684 US HWY 77 South, Victoria, TX 77905. We will caravan to the ranch. If you are going to be late please call me. I will PM you my cell number. We will have an early supper before we go out.

Please post here to sign up for what you want to bring and cook.

Everybody needs to bring something and pitch in.

Sunday morning can just be donuts and sweet rolls to have with our coffee and juice. There will be 10 of us total with the guides. Be sure to bring towels and a sleeping bag. I would also bring binoculars, shooting sticks, a flashlight, any night hunting lights you have, a camera, and unscented insect repellent.

Spray down all your hunting clothes with one of the Permethrin products like REPEL's Permanone or Sawyers. Be sure to do your gloves and caps too.

You will want to have your coolers filled with ice. The ranch does not have a walk-in cooler. You can get ice at the Exxon/7-Eleven, which is only 1 mile from the ranch.

Please plan on paying for the balance of your hunt in cash.

PLEASE TIP your guides. They work hard for us and rely on our tips.

Please post what you will be cooking/bringing (there is a grill):

Early Friday Night Supper: Chili & the Trimmings (bringing the Coffe too)-Bobcat

Saturday Breakfast/Brunch: Eggs, Sausage, Biscuits-Tailgunner

Snacks: amigo

Early Saturday Dinner: Burgers & Brats-Gabba D Hut, Ben

Sunday Morning: Donuts & Danish-Bobcat

Miscellaneous-Heavy Duty Paper Plates, Utensils, Paper Towels, etc.: CitySlickerHunter

Water & Ice for drinks: skydiver

Amigo and Bobcat,

I am going to have to abort on the trip this year. I found out Friday that I have to start another round of chemo on the Friday the 15th for 8 weeks.

I really needed to go on this trip to settle my mind. My white blood cell count goes down so low and this chemo makes me very sick.

Best to you all, keep me in your prayers.

Chuck

Chuck,

I don't know you, but it's a shame you won't make it. We'll keep you in our prayers and thoughts. Stay strong my friend.

I'll be bringing: eggs, sausage, and biscuits. Do we have a stove and utensils here, I assume so, but I've learned not to assume.

I've been light with my visits to the board lately. I suppose that's a good thing since it means I have a job and family to keep me busy. If you guys are ok with burgers and brats for dinner on Saturday the put me and Ben down for that.
