Interested in Tundra Swan to cross off the bucket list?

Recommended Posts

If any of y'all, are looking for a Tundra Swan hunt and don't mind traveling to NC then you should definitely look into it.

What you have to do:

1. Purchase a NC hunting license (non res is $80) online.

2. Purchase Swan permit application $10, also online, prior to 1Oct.

3. Travel to coastal NC (if drawn) in Dec or Jan. Typical guide fee is $100 or so (several out here)

4. Have a duck stamp (waterfowl rules apply), plugged gun, steel shot (BB or BBB).

Deadline for the application is 1 Oct and drawing is shortly after. First time applicatants 'usually' get drawn. NC issues 5000 permits annually. Reasonably cheap hunt for such a unique animal. Plus, if you are out here you might as well take a day and duck hunt for divers with me. Swan hunts are usually done out of a field blind. Youth hunters may also apply.

Just thought I'd share info for those possibly interested.
