thermal imaging scopes

Recommended Posts

I have used thermal imaging cameras but not scopes. i have hugh need for a camera, but would prefer a scope for my rifle, the cameras or a lot cheaper. I need to know which one is preferred, and does the scope work the same as the camera. i have though about renting one but that would make a good down payment on cheap camera, i need opines.or other options, which brands or good or bad.

I would do a flir ps32/ls64 handheld and mate it with a d740/760 nv scope for identifying.

I have a Raytheon 1000-9 thermal scope. It works great on the visuals. You can switch between either white or black as being hot. I spotted my horses at about 500 yards one night with no problem. I think one could detect something way out past that. The one draw back I have right now is that it is .5 moa adjustable. So, it's not as precise as I'm used to, but heck it opens up the night like you would not believe. I can live with it.
