The first is my Dedicated .22LR AR15, the next is my J&T AR15, My Spikes Tactical, AR15 Carbine, My 300 AAC BLK Carbine
  5. New Scope for My AR_15

Was looking around the Internet and have been looking for some Optics for the my AR. Leupold has a new AR series. I have been wanting a 1x-4x or 5x model so I could use my Burris PEPR mount to put a small reflex site on top. So I purchased the 1" 1.5x-4x AR Leupold. Got it in and ran across a couple of tools that I am trying. The Leopold Zero Point. Works great at first I tried to out-think the device and why it would not workthen finally went a website where a physicist who specializes in light and optics gave me a headache. He explained how the device worked and that light hits the objective and remains parralel. Then the Wheeler Level-Level-Level. was going to the range this Saturday to test it.....but the Ma in Law's AC window unit gave out and I had to rearrange my priorities Next Saturday for sure!
  6. armalite AR-50

ArmaLite has been around for a while so I am sure you would be getting a good quality rifle. The two biggest complaints I have heard from folks are that the tripod is a tad to high and no magazine. I have only heard good things about the accuracy of the AR-50. With it being a single shot I am sure accuracy in long range shooting was the 1st priority for those buying it nad designing it.
  7. Texas VS california

  8. I have not felt the need to get a Concealed Carry Permit here in Texas. The news is getting so bad I am awaiting a class in June at a local Sheriff's Department. It is not getting any better. We had a mother in her vehicle who was shot and left for dead on the side of the road. I carry one in the car concealed sometimes...I would feel more comfortable with my five round 38 snubby in a pocket holster. It's in the shop getting tuned and polished plus I believe I will have the hammer bobbed also.
  9. Proper respect for a fallen warrior

I have been on funeral duty a few times. The hardest thing is being able to present the family member with the flag and to keep a straight face and not cry. Especially if kids are involved. I remember when we got on the bus to go to our Mob Station the wives and kids were standing on the outside of the bus and the side windows were tinted pretty dark. There was not a dry eye on any of the Soldier's inside the bus either. Seeing my wife got me some but when I saw all those kids crying man.....it was all over with.

  12. Life is Good in the South

A man with two buckets of fish was stopped by a game warden in Lubbock recently. The man was leaving a lake well known for its fishing. The game warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?" The man replied, "No, sir. These are my pet fish." "Pet fish?" the warden asked. "Yes, sir. Every night I take these fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. I whistle and they jump back into the buckets, and I take them home." "That's impossible! Fish can't do that!" the warden said. The man looked at the warden for a minute, then said, "Here, I'll show you. It really works." So he took the warden down to the lake, turned the fish loose, and waited. After several minutes, the game warden said, "Well?" "Well, what?" the man responded. "When are you going to call them back?" the game warden asked. "Call who back?" the man said. "THE FISH," the game warden said. "What fish?" the man asked.
  13. Life is Good in the South

They found a bottle floating on the water, retrieved it, rubbed it, and a genie popped out. "I'll grant each of you one wish," said the genie. The first man wished for a new fishing boat, all decked out, complete with outboard, the whole nine yards. Poof! New boat! The second man wished for the lake to be turned into beer. Poof! The lake is now made of beer. "You dummy!" exclaimed the first man. "Now we'll have to pee in the boat!"
  14. Life is Good in the South

A woman goes into Wal-Mart to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's birthday. She doesn't know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter. A Wal-Mart associate is standing there wearing dark shades. She says, "Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?" He says, "Ma'am, I'm completely blind; but if you'll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything you need to know about it from the sound it makes. She doesn't believe him but drops it on the counter anyway. He says, "That's a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-LB. Test line. It's a good all around combination; and it's on sale this week for only $20.00." She says, "It's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I'll take it!" As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor. "Oh, that sounds like a Master Card," he says. She bends down to pick it up and accidentally breaks wind. At first she is really embarrassed, but then realizes there is no way the blind clerk could tell it was she who tooted. Being blind, he wouldn't know that she was the only person around. The man rings up the sale and says, "That'll be $34.50 please. " The woman is totally confused by this and asks, "Didn't you tell me it was on sale for $20.00? How did you get $34.50?" He replies, "Yes, Ma'am. The rod and reel is $20.00, but the Duck Call is $11.00 and the Catfish Bait is $3.50."
  15. AR-15 Troubleshooting Tip's

FAILURE TO FEED: In our experience, 70% of feeding problems derive from bad magazines. Magazines have a service life just like any other part, and will wear out in time. For some reason, people never throw out their old magazines, even when they know they are no good. Some good signs of a bad mag. are: when the magazine starts to spread at the top when fully loaded; when it starts to double-feed 2 live rounds at a time into the receiver; when it fails to feed the last 2 rounds in the magazine. If you encounter any of these situations, trash that magazine. I found a solution for hanging onto old magazines...take them ouside and crush them with the sledgehammer. Then throwing them away....takes the temptation away...lol
  16. Summer Reading List

I have added The Real George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin to my list.
  17. AR Cleaning Kit?

Brownells also has a set that looks like the picks in a dentists office for getting to the small spaces. Might ask your dentist if he has any old ones he want to get rid of. You cant beat one of these.

It arrived today..I did let the gun shop keep the card board box it came in....
  19. Summer Reading List

Stephen Hunter is the man! Also have read a ton of Clive Cussler. I bet you would enjoy the Reacher novels by Lee Child. Re reading The 5,000 Year Leap at the moment.... The Handbook for Constitution/Freedom 101. I invested in one of those Sony Electronic Book Readers...
  20. Oops I did it again

Man I was perusing the interwebby last night and happened by Buds Gun Shop. Tis the debil incarnate sometimes. Doublestar Star 15 CAR 16" HBAR .223 I saw this for $659.00 delivered plus no sales tax. I dallied to long and now it will be at the gunshop on 5/14. It is waiting to be united with an EOTech sight that is also paid for. I couldn't even build one for that. Also attached is a picture of its big brother who has a new PEPR 1" and 30mm mount just debating on the scope
  21. Oops I did it again

I have two gun safes I had to cut out the wood part with the holes so I could stack a few more in..lol
  22. Oops I did it again

Here is its elder brother... I just went to the range and zeroed the reflex sight and scope in. I used the 25m Zero Targets to get a 300 meter battle zero. I used the Leupold Zero Point Tool and the windage was right on the scope. I have a Leupold AR Mark 1.5x - 4x scope with a small reflex red dot sight on a Burris PEPR 1" Mount. The small reflex sight does an outstanding job. All three holes were touching at dead center on the 25m target. The red dot perfectly covers the target. So if I have to throw down up close and personal its on! I would be dangerous if my old eyes were not so bad.
