Even though we had a banner year for acorns and pecans in Coryell County, I had a Great 2012 deer season.  The deer sightings were down for sure this year but I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.  Opening Morning 15 minutes after daylight this 10 point came in to my field behind a doe.  As soon as I could tell he wasn't busted up or missing any tines I had to let the 7mm-08 T/C Encore do it's thing.  The shot was nothing to brag about at only 80 yards but the Nosler 140 grain AccuBond did a great job and anchored him dead in his tracks.  I cant wait to get him back from the taxidermist and hanging on the wall.    post-21357-0-57399700-1360127457_thumb.j  Several weeks later with a spike tag left to fill,  this guy trots out behind a doe in the same field.  post-21357-0-10237000-1360127661_thumb.j  It didn't take long for me to get my gun up and let him know I did not want him chasing that doe.  I know of a lot of hunters that didn't have a very good year and I feel very blessed to have had the luck that I did.

Very nice!
