Wow this was an old post. Don't give up Live Oak. See if you can find a current issue of Full Cry magazine. There are several reputable squirrel dog breeders that advertise in there.


Trivia on dogs being illegal. One year I obtained a hunting permit for the Big thicket National Preserve in East Texas because I wanted to go squirrel hunting there when I was in the area. I never used the permit. Come to find out via Federal regulation, dogs are not allowed in the Big thicket. Not for hunting, not for anything. Not even on leash. Duck hunters can't even use retrievers while hunting on the preserve. NUTS!

Had sub. to Bull & Lies magazine, dont trust a one of them! Some are alright folks that really believe what they write about but too many of they are just selling dogs! A good old "truck" dog that just likes to ride around will suit me now! Just need to find one dumber than me. We are talking box of rocks or Senator level smarts!!!! He He
