Hello. I am a new member from Austin.

Me and my son, who turns 17 this month, want to do some predator hunting in the upcoming year. Our first opportunity might come the two days before Thanksgiving on our annual visit to my wife's cousins small ranch in Colorado county. My son has taken a buck there for the past 3 years. Last year while in the blind I saw a bobcat. This year I plan to use an electronic call to see if anything comes during some off time.

The only predator that I have ever shot was a bobcat that was called in by my guide after I had gotten my deer and hog in a south Texas hunt.

I don't have a lot of free time. Generally I only have Thursdays and Sundays off. Occasionally I can get  2 or 3 days off in a row. I hope to find some reasonably priced predator hunting opportunities that my son and I can take advantage of. I don't have any varmint rifles so to speak, but I do have several very accurate big game rifles that should work out to 400 yards.

I hope to curtail my gun buying habit and use the savings toward hunting opportunities. I look forward to learning about the predator hunting scene in Texas from the good people on this forum.

Best regards,
