Here is a diagram of a hogs vitals for you. You can also shoot them right behind the ear and drop them in their tracks.

There is room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

All my hogs have died in their tracks from headshots--with everything from a .22 LR to a 7 mag. Doesn't get any simpler than that.

Bob

then if I read the pic right 2 inches above what we would call an elbow and slightly to the right should be a good area and of course the head shots mentioned by others

Yep!!

I try to keep my shots from the front shoulder forward. I hit one too far back once, I mean I center punched it, a 30 cal. hole between the ribs on one side and a 30 cal. exit hole between the ribs on the other and had to track it about 100 plus yds into the deep south Tex brush. I found it dead but it was no fun.

Dangit...I still can't wait to kill my first hog!

I've planned to shoot 'em behind the ear, just like
Glenn Guess does, DRT everytime.

In fact I've got a new dedicated hog gun: the remington R-25 .308
& sighted in w/ RBCD 126gr Predator ammo. I'm anxious to see how
this set-up performs.

Good luck CMJ. Got my first last year and the well dried up. Use to see 'em and hear 'em all the time out in the NF. Can't say I've heard or seen one since.
