This evening, I pulled in the driveway at 5:40pm... Went inside, unloaded my work stuff, hugged the wife and kiddo... Then took the dog out for her evening walk, to do the potty thing.

Like clockwork, the dog is at the back door waiting, while mom and the kiddo are getting ready to eat supper. I take the pup outside, walk down the driveway, and I look to the south, where notorious rabbits like to eat rotting peaches under the peach tree.... it's around 6:20 or so... sun is already passed the horizon and giving off a good amber glow, and what do I see? What looks like a massive lizard!

So i take a gander a little closer, and much to my surprise, a 2 ft diamond back is waiting, perched on some bricks...(I didn't measure him before I shot him, but he was perched on the bricks covering our vent, fore we have a pier and beam house, and had plenty of snake on either side of the vent hole, which is 16" wide)

I attach the dog to the pole, go inside and fetch the 20g and come back outside, and that sucker is looking for me! So I let him eat some dove shot.... first shot was a little low, and shot him backwards 2 feet. Second shot was not so easy on him. Sucker moved for about an hour after being disemboweled and decapitated.

First one I've seen since February.... So just a reminder, keep an eye out for the little guys, especially this weekend. It's supposed to be a warm one.

Hey Sneed

We have a member who apparently likes to eat varmints. Give ole Rizzo a shout and see if he would like the rascal for dinner. Don't believe there is much sense in skinning what's left of him for a belt or sumtin.

You properly turned a snake into a good snake. Great Job. However, if you were in Arkansas you would have just committed a crime!

Yeah, they're still out there. Kids and I killed one the other day that was almost as long as my regular sized shovel. Prolly would have been if he still had his head but it had already been separated from his body at that point. It pays to watch where you put your feet.

Sorry, no picture of me behind it holding my shovel. I'll take a camera next time.

Are you kidding me? You know what model Mossberg I'm talking about dont ya Timbo? LOL, it's not going to happen! If it was the wife that shot it, you better believe some LDPs with her and her shotty would be in order... but I don't mess around wit that.... She's lucky I didn't go after it with a 6.8SPC AR-15.... that would be really interesting!

Sure makes you look twice before floppin' down for a callin' session!
