Well,

Sorry this took so long. I cleared it with Bob a while back, but with my work schedule and the new baby I figured I better not try and run it myself. I've got a deal worked out for a weekday hunt in Rochester, TX for a Thurs and Fri hunt Dec 3-4. Its 2 morning hunts, and theres potholes etc we can do evening duck hunts, some areas I believe you can predator call and you could add on pig hunting. Theres no minimum of hunters needed and its $350 a person. I'll cook a pot of gumbo for Thurs night and can take a group out for ducks that evening. It doesn;t include lodging, but theres hotels 10 miles down the road. The normal rate for a morning hunt is $220 so this is a good deal and includes evening duck hunts. The duck hunts are primarily widgeon, pintails, and teal, but we could go after divers.

THe areas loaded up with birds already and you can't beat getting after em before they get too smart. You'll be hunting in the mornings over 50-140doz decoys depending on how many we put out. It should be a good time! THeres room for 6 guns counting me, to make sur theres enough room for everybody.

As a special bonus, you might find yourself on tv. A champion caller and his film crew is supposed to be there at the same time, but I'll keep that to myself...

$150 holds your spot and you can pay the rest there. Send me a PM or post here and I'll send you a mssg.

Who wants to go goose hunting????

Hey Y'all,

I really want to thank Todd, aka Slew, for setting this up and hosting it. He has put a lot of work into making this "fly"!

I won't be able to make this hunt. Todd will be running the show. You can sign up in this thread.

Thanks Todd!! Posted Image

I really want to make this hunt, however, I'm already committed to another
hunt that weekend. It's opening weekend for pheasants up in the panhandle.
You guys have a great time!

Let me clarify the evening hunts! We can hunt several places around there and the waterholes if geese aren't using them but the duck hunts will be on our own. I don;t hafta scout either evening so I'm going duck hunting both evening and I can take 3 maybe 4 with me each trip. Anyone else that wants to duck hunt I can steer in the right direction but you will need your own gear. First 3 that sign up got a spot wherever we duck hunt in the evenings if they wanna go. He also has a few places ya'll could try to call at night if you wanted but I don;t know anything about that.

Right now Bennie and I are gonna chase ducks in the evening! Who else wants to burn some steel????

Edited the number of guns avaiable to include 6 counting me so theres room for 4 more folks. We're gonna leave some wiggle room in there for camera men or any extra folks in case they show up. This is a great place for lesser canadas and specks! Specks are my favorite goose by far!!!

Theres room for 4 more. Who wants to chase some honkers? Post up here cause I'm gonna be away from the internet chasin my mulie for a while!!! :)

Let it be known; my interest is feverish, but work is the chiller & I'm the Boss!

It will have to be a wait & see, depends on the production load at the time of the hunt.

Specks are also my favorite geese, I have one on my wall in my office from Canada.

No Cranes?

It wouldn't hurt to secure a crane permit, but we won;t be chasing them primarily. If one comes across the spread cut down on em!! The peanuts are disked up drying in the field and the geese are already destroying them! Specks are everywhere around there right now! I can't wait to get back in the field under some geese!!!

Man I can hardly wait for this hunt. It has been five or six years since I went Goose Hunting. If they are coming in good it is hard to beat for a good time. Then throw some Duck hunting in on top of that, can it get any better.

Started cooking a 30qt pot of chicken and goose sausage gumbo today! Will finish it up tomorrow and get it in the freezer. Halfs going deer hunting next week and half on the goose hunt! Mix in a few cigars, a couple cold ones, and maybe some cards and it should be a good time!!
