For those of you who buy lots of corn in Texas, just a note. You should not be paying sales tax on the corn--and you don't need a tax-exempt account. I challenged one store and finally had to write the state comptroller who sent me an e-mail in reply stating that deer corn is not taxable. So, if you buy your corn at WM or Super S, or just about anyplace besides a feed store or mill, you may be paying tax on it. At our local WM, that was $.52 per 50lb bag. I took the message to WM and showed it to management--they refunded the tax I had paid (didn't notice until I got home), and kept the message so they could change their whatever to correct the error. I'll go back and check on them next week.

If anyone wants a copy of the e-mail, send me an e-mail and I'll forward it to you. dustoffer (at) satx (dot) rr (dot) com

Thanks for the heads up, dustoffer. I buy quite a bit of corn each year, so this will really help.
